ABOUT THE PRODUCTION COMPANY
Ponte Produtoras was created by Dora Amorim, Julia Machado, and Thaís Vidal in Recife/2015 to produce the work of young Brazilian filmmakers. Our films have been screened in the most iimportant Brazilian and international festivals (Brasília FF, Rio IFF, Cannes Critics' Week, Chicago IFF, IndieLisboa, Rotterdam IFF, Locarno FF).
The company focuses on original works from young Brazilian screenwriters, making it possible to produce films with different themes and aesthetics that strongly reflect the narrative possibilities and points of view of our culture. Ponte was born out of the desire to tell important, strong, representative stories that would also allow cinema to be used as a tool for social transformation.

Ponte has already joined important markets and development laboratories such as Brasil CineMundi – International Coproduction Market, BrLab, Torino Film Lab Program “Up & Coming” (Participant invited by the Next Step Lab of Cannes Critics Week), Lobo Lab – Mar Del Plata International Coproduction Meeting. The company has just released its first international coproduction with France, the film Sweet River, directed by Fellipe Fernandes, which has as a coproducer Gabrielle Dumon. The film had its premiere at Olhar de Cinema, where it won Best Film and Best Brazilian Film awards, and premiered internationally at the Cinelatino de Toulouse, where it received the FIPRESCI Award.

In 2021, the production company also released the films God has AIDS, directed by Fábio Leal and Gustavo Vinagre, which won Best Film at Queer Porto and Venus in Nykes, directed by André Antonio, which won Best Screenplay at Mix Brasil and was recently screened at the Berlin Critics Week.
